Lenticular Printing in Malaysia — How It Works and Where to Use It

Lenticular printing makes a physical print change as you tilt it — the image shifts, moves, or swaps to a different picture entirely. This guide covers how it actually works, what it can be printed onto, how it's used at events in Malaysia, and how it differs from an ordinary print.

The three-second answer

How it's actually made

Lenticular is not a filter applied to a photo — it's a real optical structure. Three steps, none of them optional:

Because of that third step, most suppliers outsource lenticular work to a print house and deliver days later. We built the whole pipeline into our own system, which is why we can produce it on-site during the event.

What it can be printed as

Format Size Best for
4R lenticular photo 4 × 6 inches The main output for weddings and corporate events — big enough for the effect to read clearly.
6×6cm lenticular card 6 × 6 cm Pocket size — goes in a wallet or onto a laptop, so more guests actually carry it away.
Collectible card Trading-card size Dual-face lenticular keepsakes, optionally with an NFC chip embedded — see INFILAB.

Lenticular vs an ordinary print

Ordinary instant print Lenticular print
Image One, fixed Two or more, switching with the angle
Speed Seconds Made on-site, a little slower, still same-day take-home
Guest reaction Taken and pocketed Immediately shown to the person next to them
Fits Volume — everyone gets one The highlight — events you want remembered

They're not either/or. Plenty of events run both — one instant-print booth for volume, one lenticular booth as the highlight. See the full comparison.

Where it's used in Malaysia

Weddings

One face is the group shot from the table, the other is the couple's portrait. What the guest takes home isn't an event photo, it's something they'll actually display. More wedding ideas.

Brand activations & exhibitions

One face carries the guest's photo, the other carries the product or campaign visual. The brand message leaves the venue inside the keepsake, instead of on a flyer that gets binned. See corporate work.

Collectibles & merch

Lenticular also works as collectible cards, fridge magnets and badges. INFILAB is this same technology turned into products for individuals.

Frequently asked

Where can I get lenticular printing in Malaysia?

Commercial print houses can produce lenticular in bulk, but usually with a lead time of several days and a minimum order. If you need it produced live at an event, with every print different, you need a team that can bring the whole interlacing-printing-alignment pipeline on-site. We're based in Kuala Lumpur and cover the Klang Valley, West and Northern Malaysia including Penang.

Is lenticular much more expensive?

Our packages start from RM600, with classic instant print as the most accessible tier. Lenticular (3D) and 3D AI sit higher because the material and the production steps are more involved. There's no fixed gap — tell us about the event and we'll quote the options side by side.

Are lenticular and 3D the same thing?

Lenticular is the name of the optical technique; 3D is one of the effects it can produce. The same lens sheet can also give you a flip between two images or a short motion effect, not necessarily stereo depth. Our 3D Photo Booth is lenticular.

How long does a lenticular print last?

It's a physical print, so like any photo it doesn't enjoy prolonged direct sunlight or being bent. Kept normally and not creased, it lasts for years — which is part of why guests hold on to it.
